Admissions

How to apply

At Newman Sixth, all students are required to choose a pathway that allows them to study 3 A-level or equivalent courses over 2 years.

A-level courses are linear and examined at the end of Year 13, whilst many of the BTEC Level 3 courses are examined throughout the course, through a combination of formative exams and coursework.

All of our courses are accredited and all of our pathways offer post-eighteen routes to university, apprenticeships, and employment.

There will be a talk for externals in the Main Hall at 6.00pm. All talks will involve tours and an opportunity to meet subject departments and teachers. We look forwarding to welcoming you.

Deadline for applications from Newman Students - Tuesday 17th December 2024

Interviews will take place from January. Newman students will receive a conditional place subject to meeting the entry requirements in their GCSE predictions, which will be based on their latest assessment. If a student does not meet the entry requirements at this time, they may still apply to Newman Sixth Form on Results Day should their results be better than expected.

Deadline for applications from External Students - Friday 31st January 2025

Please remember to enclose a copy of your latest assessment or mock results, any qualifications already obtained and your GCSE predictions. We no longer interview external students. Students will receive a ‘receipt’ of their application only. Potential students shall be invited to the Induction Days in June and will need to confirm their place, subject to meeting the entry requirements, on Results Day in August. Please pass this completed form to your school tutor who will then complete the back page and return the entire form including the reference to the following address; you may wish to post it yourself to ensure it is sent. Application forms may also be downloaded and sent via email to the address below.
